These guidelines give direction on how to apply the NHS corporate identity to your signage. They have been developed to ensure that your signs have clarity and impact.

You should read this section in conjunction with our guidelines on the NHS logo, NHS typefaces and the NHS colour palette.

You should also check the guidance on using the NHS logo with third party provider logos. You can follow your normal specifications for signage materials and construction.

Signage requirements will vary depending on how services are delivered. However, all your services must be positioned to the public as NHS services and must be branded with the NHS logo. In some cases, it may also be appropriate to brand services with your own provider logo.

Please note: the branding of services in existing or shared NHS facilities must always be agreed with your commissioning PCT and any other stakeholders including the Department of Health brand team.
